Partial Work Bans lifted

(18 December 2009) The CEPU has written to Australia Post senior management seeking an urgent end to the dispute over EBA7.

As a gesture of good faith, we are stopping ALL protected industrial action, meaning there will be NO industrial action for the four days covering today, tomorrow, Sunday and Monday.

The bans currently in place that are to be withdrawn include:

Bans on the performance of overtime

  • Bans on the performance of work relating to administrative duties
  • Bans on the performance of work relating to sign-off Resource Optimisation Model, including participating in consultation processes and data collection activities associated with the process
  • Bans on the performance of work relating to complying with employer policies and/or directions concerning the media and providing information to the public
  • Bans on the performance of work relating to dress codes of Australia Post
  • Bans on the performance of work relating to not being seated while at work
  • Bans on the performance of work relating to complying with employer policies and or directions relating to attending Facility Nominated
  • Bans on the performance of work relating to revenue checking and collection of Bans on the performance of work relating to taking of any action to stop unstamped mail/parcels from being delivered

These bans are to cease immediately.

We in turn have requested Australia Post re-instate the overtime that would usually be available to members this weekend.

Members have been fighting long and hard for a fairer EBA7- one that protects their security, safety and pay.

It is time for Post to come back to the table and finally listen to your biggest concerns.
