CEPU to donate $50,000 to Bushfire Appeal
(13 February, 2009): Australians have joined together in force this week, determined to ease the suffering and loss experienced by Victorians in one of the country's worst natural disasters.
The CEPU pays its deepest respects to those who lost their lives and thanks the countless volunteers who have worked so hard to help those in need.
To help with the re-building effort, the CEPU Communications Division is donating $50,000 to the Red Shield Bushfire Appeal.
Our Victorian Branches have been fielding calls and helping members affected by the fires. They report that:
- Four members lost their houses
- One Postal Delivery Officer suffered burns to his hands and feet and is in the Alfred Hospital
