(20 April, 2009): The feedback from retails members on the upgrade to the Resource Optimisation Model (ROM) indicates that many of the changes in ROM5 are seen as positive but there are outstanding issues that need to be addressed.
In fact many of the changes in the new ROM are the result of issues raised on behalf of CEPU members including the accurate collection of data, consultation, transparency of information, and proper training of employees when a review is undertaken in their outlet.
Feedback from members across Australia has indicated that issues remain about times allowed in ROM. There are concerns about the times allowed by ROM 5 for a number of stock related tasks, for training, and some transaction times are not adequate. Additionally there are concerns that ROM5 does take account of passport booking times, certification of documents, or unsuccessful applications for identity verification.
Retail members will be kept informed of further progress as we pursue all outstanding ROM5 issues with Australia Post.
