(29 May, 2009): CEPU members at the Sydney West Letters Facility (SWLF) are up in arms about Australia Post’s failure to resolve accommodation, amenities and OHS issues arising from the relocation of the Lidcombe Delivery Centre and proposed relocation of Parramatta Delivery Centre to SWLF.
The CEPU NSW Branch says Australia Post is in breach of national guidelines regarding minimum accommodation and amenities for Delivery operations. Moreover there has been no consultation with AURs or HSRs regarding the relocation of Delivery operations to SWLF says the union.
Sydney Transport Facility AURs and HSRs are also upset with SWLF management, having made numerous representations to senior management about being denied access to amenities within SWLF.
Frustrated by the behaviour of SWLF management the union’s Branch Committee of Management has authorised the Branch Secretary to notify Australia Post of a dispute about accommodation, amenities and OHS issues at SWLF and take whatever steps are necessary to fix these matters.
