(13 February, 2009): Our thoughts go to the family of CEPU member Aaron Myers who died tragically last week.
33 year old Aaron worked as a Postal Delivery Officer on the Sunshine Coast, Queensland. He was driving home after work last week when his car collided with a cement truck.
Approximately 300 people attended his funeral yesterday to pay respects to Aaron, including many of his Australia Post work mates and representatives of the CEPU's Queensland Branch.

According to the Sunshine Coast Daily, Aaron's loss was one which "rippled across the (Sunshine) Coast, felt hardest in a Caloundra home which had always been filled with laughter and love where Aaron lived with his Bubba, five-year-old son 'Riley-Roo' and Chook – his three-year-old daughter Brooke."
"Both his Australia Post motorbike helmet and firefighter helmet sat on his coffin, which was adorned with flowers and sat beneath a screen displaying a photo of Aaron as those who knew him remember him best, showing his kind eyes and big smile," the paper reported.
Aaron was active in his local community as a volunteer firefighter and SES worker - with strong representation for the emergency services present at the funeral.
Aaron is survived by his wife Jen and two young children, Riley and Brooke. Our thoughts and best wishes go out to them.
