Report on Industrial Action (1/5)

(1 May, 2009): The CEPU members’ industrial campaign to win the EBA Telstra employees deserve, continues.

  • The PSTN/Transmission Techs Specialists are back from their five day strike, with the fault queues an absolute mess.
  • Bendigo Call Centre members have walked out for the last 4 hours of their shift every day over the last 8 working days. On one day they organised a protest in the Bendigo shopping mall.
  • Following the many days of strike action taken by the NGO activation members, the NGO Assurance members have now walked out indefinitely. So far they will have been out for five days by midnight tonight.
  • Members from Service Delivery and Network Construction in Darwin walked out for 24 hours in protest at a visit to the Territory by CEO Trujillo.
  • Members in Mobiles Networks fixed Mobile Operations (GOC), walked out for the last 4 hours of their shift last Friday.
  • Members in Construction, Service Delivery, the GOC and Mobiles are preparing for further action.
  • The CPSU, one of the other unions in the single bargaining unit, has also been involved in some of the action.
