New laws make life tougher for us - so let the Government know what you think
(28 May, 2009): There are a lot of good things to come out of the changes to workplace laws that will take affect from 1 July.
There are some things we believe still need to be pushed and argued for - in the interests of getting even better and fairer workplace laws.
And then there are decisions being made right now that need to be fought - laws which we have asked the Government to change their approach on, without success.
One of them is a bill being debated before parliament which will force us to go to another ballot for industrial action in Telstra.
Today, we've written to all Government MPs and Senators letting them know why we think the Bill needs to be changed - and you can download a word version of the letter right here
If you feel strongly about this issue, like we do, feel free to write to your local MP (use our words, cut and paste them to your email, we don't mind).

We don't know what success we will have at this late stage - but sometimes you need to stand up and let people know what you think.
