Talks look to move toward agreement
(4 June, 2009): Following Telstra's announcement that they would agree to enter into "good faith bargaining" with their employee representatives, for a new EBA for employees on the EBA and on expired AWA's, after an exchange of letters between Telstra and the Unions, the parties will meet on Friday 5 June 2009.
Tomorrow's discussions will look to establish both a time table for EBA talks and a possible framework to manage associated issues in any negotiations.
The CEPU is committed to "good faith bargaining" in real terms to try to achieve the good quality EBA Telstra workers deserve, and Telstra managements' public statements appear to indicate a similar approach.
